Seiko Presage Automatic 60th Anniversary Limited Edition

Seiko, celebrating their 60th anniversary of their first automatic movement, has introduced the Seiko Presage 60th Anniversary Limited Edition watch. This watch draws inspiration from their first automatic watch, the 1956 Seiko Automatic. Almost immediately buyers will notice that both watches have the same style of gold hands and indices, as well as the same case shape and dial color. Yet this new limited edition watch has taken it to a new level with a modern design and updated features.

The Seiko Presage Automatic 60th Anniversary Limited Edition is a mechanical watch that includes a sweep date at 6 o’clock and a retrograde power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock. The movement boasts a 45-hour power reserve and a gold rotor that can be seen through a sapphire crystal caseback. As an additional feature, Seiko’s in-house movement, the self-winding caliber 6R27, can also be hand-wound by the owner.

The watch comes in stainless steel with a pale ivory dial. The hands and indices, as previously mentioned, are styled similar to the 1956 version. Yet this dial features an additional date sub-dial, and the power reserve indicator moved from 12 o’clock to 9 o’clock. The watch comes with a brown crocodile strap in a commemorative limited edition box.

Celebrating the 60-year anniversary, there will be 1,956 timepieces available. The watches are expected to go for $1,100. For more information, visit Seiko.com
